When it comes to fuel efficiency, there's no doubt that smaller is better. But most people equate smaller with boring or slow or just small engines. That's not always true. The VentureOne Hybrid vehicle can go 0-60 in 6 seconds and goes 100 mph with 100 mpg fuel efficiency. And you can get a range of 400 miles on a six gallong tank of gas. That's enough speed and efficiency to get to anyone.
They also have an all electric version, but that one gets a top speed of 75 mph and can range up to 120 miles.
But then, if you're interested in any of the above, you do have to sacrifice practicality. The VentureOne Plug-in Hybrid is a two-passenger, three wheeled vehicle. You're not going to fit a lot of groceries in the back, either.
Oh, and then there's the rolling to get used to. Exciting and safe to drive, yes. Feeling of safety for a lot of people, no.
The cockpit leans over as you take corners, up to 45 degrees, using a combination of hydraulic and mechanical technologies. The system was developed by Carver Engineering in the Netherlands and is licensed by Venture Vehicles. It quickly determines the ideal angle and balance based on speed, acceleration and road conditions.
Persu Mobility describes the system as "providing high reliability, quick response, and a remarkably natural driving experience."
Take a look as BBC Top Gear takes the VentureOne through its paces.
There are three different models to choose from, the Venture e50, Venture Q100 and Venture EV. Prices range from $18,000 to $23,000, and as you can see from the specs, the range and versatility varies.
