Car Buying; Price Negotiation

Price Negotiation goes back to your Grandparents telling you to never pay sticker! Many like to Negotiate Price and many customers hate this part of buying a car. Would you like some tips from an Auto Insider on Price Negotiation?

Price Negotiation is where a customer wants to get a car for the lowest price possible and the Car Salesman wants to close the deal at the highest price possible. First, we must discuss why a Car Salesman wants to sell a car for the highest price possible. It all comes down to one word, Gross! Gross Profit is the margin between cost and price sold. If you sell a car for $10000 and the cost is $8000 then this means the salesman has a $2000 Gross Profit. Guess What? Gross Profit is how a salesman gets paid. Most dealerships pay 25-30%. 30% of $2000 is $600 dollars. Now if you Price Negotiate a little more, it cuts into the salesman's commission, but gets you a better price. Remember, Profit is not a dirty word so don't get mad at the salesman, that's their job!

Price Negotiation has become one of the easiest things to overcome because of the all powerful Internet. How would you like to know the price before ever stepping foot into a dealership? Get quotes from Yahoo! Autos and know you are getting the best price. Here is how it works. You follow the link, put in your zip, pick your car, put a little contact info, select ALL Dealers, Dealers fight for your business. When I say they fight for your business, you will be amazed at the first offers. Like I say, Price Negotiation has become too easy.

Owe Too Much On Trade - Negative Equity - Upside Down

Everyone that has ever purchased a car and traded another that there was a balance on has heard one of these phrases. "You are Upside Down," "You have Negative Equity," "You owe more on your Trade than it is worth."

Let me first explain what Negative Equity is and how to help reduce this Upside Down aspect of a car deal. Negative Equity is simply owing more on your Trade than it is worth. When you trade with Negative Equity, you are obviously going to have Negative on the next Trade In. It is a ripple affect that keeps following you. You had $3000 negative on your trade, now you have $8000 negative the next time, etc...
Also, let me say, you are NOT alone! We are in an age when nobody wants to put money down, and wants the lowest payment possible--stretching their contract out to 72 months and even 84 months with some banks.

The VERY FIRST thing to make sure you eliminate some negative is to MAKE SURE you get the best deal possible on the car you are buying. You have to visit Yahoo! Autos and get a FREE CAR QUOTE on your car of choice. It is a FREE service so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. You fill out a short form with the vehicle of your choice, some contact info, and choose all the dealers in your local area to give you a quote on this vehicle. They will fight for your business and you will not believe what prices you will receive. This is by far the best advice because the lower the price you buy for, the less negative you will take with the car.

Next, You want to put money down if at all possible. Customers have this illusion that money down goes in the dealers pockets. NOT! This is your initial investment that will lower your amount financed and lessen the negative right out of the gate. Also, pick a shorter term of financing. If the payment is too high, pick a cheaper vehicle! Do not finance for 72 months--do 60 months MAX! If you have already done a 72 month contract, pay extra every month. Pay $50, $100, even $200 extra per month. You will eventually get your vehicle down to what it is actually worth.

Remember, Cars Depreciate! If you choose long term financing, do not put money down, they will Depreciate faster than you can pay for the car.

Everyone wants to find the invoice price of a new car on the internet, take it to the local dealer, and slug it out with them. Why not just find out who is going to sell the vehicle for the lowest price, period! There may be a dealer ready to make a deal that gives you a better price than invoice.

Yahoo! Autos is the place you can pick from local dealers to get the best possible price. You simply fill out a short form with your contact information and wait on your price. The first page that comes up will ask what make and model car you want for your Free Price Quote and your zip code. The next page will ask a little more about the car like color preference, interior trim, and a comments section for anything else you may want on the auto.

In the center of the page will have contact information. This is important because you want to get your price quote. Most of the time it will be emailed to you. If you get a phone call from the dealer tell them to email it to you so you have a printed copy of the Dealer Price. They already know you are shopping because of your request for a Free Price Quote. Even if there is a dealer listed that you know you dont want to buy from, get a price from them anyway! It may give you bargaining power with the dealer of your choice.

Select Get Free Dealer Quotes and sit back and relax. You can also go back and submit on another brand if you are comparing other vehicles. For example, you may want Price Quotes on Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Nissan Altima. You would have to enter each seperately because it will only give you price quotes on one vehicle at a time and one brand. Lease Versus Buy Car

Everyone always Asks, Should I BUY A CAR or LEASE A CAR? This is a very important question when going to the Car Dealership.

You need to look at your past car experiences to determine your future car needs. Some questions to ask yourself about your car.

    1. How many miles do I drive my car?
    2. What kind of condition do I keep my car in?
    3. What do I use my car for?
    4. How long do I keep a Car?

This is 4 very important questions when deciding to Lease or Buy a Car. If you drive over 15 or 20 thousand miles a year, I would suggest you BUY YOUR CAR. If you are rough on your car, like scratches, dents, wear inside and out, I would suggest you BUY YOUR CAR. If you use your car for travel and it is your main car, you may want to BUY YOUR CAR. If you keep your car a very short amount of time or a very long time, you may want to BUY YOUR CAR!

But, on the other side, if you drive 15000 miles a year or less, trade every 3 to 4 years, and keep your car in good condtion, you may want to LEASE YOUR CAR.

Look at the last car you traded. Did you have Negative Equity? Did you owe more than it was worth? If your answer is yes, check into leasing. Leasing gives you the opportunity to trade more often without having negative equity. You turn your lease in and pick out another. It is a great way to drive newer cars more often. Lease scares many people because their mothers and fathers said to NEVER LEASE! Why? It works great for many customers. I have customers call me and tell me to get a new vehicle of their liking ready and they will pick it up tomorrow. Easy for the customer and easy for the dealership.

New Car Deals Are Real Deals!

Guess what? There are still some 2006 models on the ground. What does that mean for you? That means there are some GREAT deals to be found. We are in the second month of the year with last years models still on the ground, that means the rebates are hitting the max, and the deals are getting sweet! They have to GO!
Fill out this short form at Yahoo! Autos
to see exactly what you should be paying for the 2006 you found or the 2007 that just arrived on the lot. There are deals on all of them now, but know what to pay before you even go. there are many savvy customers that are making their deals over the phone just because they do not like the games at the dealerships. Get your price at Yahoo! Autos
and call the dealership and make an offer. If the offer is accepted, then go take a closer look to make sure it is right for you. The saleman will not be mad because once you come in, they know you are serious. There is no haggleing once you get there. It just takes the stress out of the deal for all involved. Oh and by the way, if you are in most parts of the country it is very cold out right now, so dealing over the phone is not such a bad idea. Let me know if you use this method and it works for you.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/New-Cars

New Car Versus Used Car; Which One Should You Buy?

This is a question that I, as a car salesman, get daily. Everyone is sort of confused about which one to buy. The main thing customers are concerned about is getting a good deal.

Let me say this; Consider pricing between the new vehicle you want compared to used car pricing of the same model. I will use the GMC Envoy because this is one that I sell.

A new GMC Envoy with leather interior will cost about $34000 pretty well equipped. Now with rebates and discounts lets say you can buy one for $31000-this is just an example. Include your tax, tag, title fees and your payment will be approx. $550-$600, this is also an approx. figure. This payment will change according to your rate determined by your credit. Now lets say you plan on trading this vehicle in 2 years and you did 60 month financing. At the end of the 2nd year, you probably will still owe about $26000. I am guessing at these figures, but I have been selling for 10 years so probably real close to being accurate.

Now, take this same well equipped GMC Envoy in a used model. You can buy last years model with 18000 miles for approx. $22000 with a payment in the $400 to $450 range. You also plan on trading this one in 2 years. In 2 years you owe approx. $16000-$17000.

Now, when the used car manager appraises these 2 vehicles you will get a better idea of how things work. The used one will have a few more miles because of the miles on it when you purchased it. The extra miles may cost you $1000 dollars. The new one may appraise for $14000 leaving you a negative equity of $12000. The used one may appraise for $13000 leaving you a negative equity of $4000-$5000. Now you can see the value of buying a used car over new. I have had plenty of customers that purchased a new car that are having trouble trading because of the large negative equity whereas the one that purchased the used vehicle can trade because they are in a better position for the bank. Now, if you put money down when you purchased the used one, you are even in better condition.

I am not saying every new car purchase is bad, but you stand a better chance with a good used car. We also do not know exactly how much a car will depreciate in these 2 years, but this is my experience in past years. So, look at a good used car and compare pricing while you are at the lot.

When Is Best Time To Buy A New Car-Continued

I told you at the end of the year, that it was a good time to buy a new car. It was a good time to buy a new car, right? Well, guess what? It is still a great time to buy a new car.

Dealers are finding new car sales very sluggish and are very motivated to move some iron! If you think they are not motivated, visit a local dealership which offers your car of choice and see what you can buy one for now. Get ready though, you may drive off the lot in that new car.

The end of 2006 ended with a bang and new car dealerships are wanting to continue the momentum into 2007. Nothing beats a great December followed by an awesome January. January for new car sales has been lagging. Any 2006 models left over are a MUST GO for January. For instance, on my lot, there is a 2006 new Buick Rendezvous that is discounted $10,000 without any haggle. It will be an easy deal and almost a steal. There are others that top the $5000 discount. Many GM dealers still have Red Tag Sale tags in the windows, so make it easy to pop by when they are closed to see what deals are being offered.

Many people want to come after a dealership closes, but dont be afraid of Salesmen. All you have to tell them is to give you a little time to look around in peace. Ok, no problem, especially with the cooler temps. We will not hastle you, look around in the day when you can see. Just ask for a business card and please use it if you decide to buy from this perticular dealer. Salesmen will appreciate you for asking for them when you return.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/New-Cars

New Car Quote

Its that time of year again! It is new car buying season. I get this question daily. When is the best time to buy a car? Well, I can tell you when it gets to the end of the year and there are still models from the previous year, it is a great time to buy. Right now, there are 2006 models on the ground and 2007 models are filling the lots. The 2006 models have to go. You can get your new car quote on Yahoo autos to see what price you should pay for the vehicle you are looking for.

    Yahoo! Autos

If a last year model is not sold by the end of the year, ALL rebates and incentives for that vehicle are gone. So, you can see that dealers are anxious to move those cars now. We still have a 2005 model on the ground in the 2007 model year selling season. It is going to be impossible to sell it now. The dealership will have to make a decision to take a hit to get rid of it. You talk about depreciate when you drive off the lot. An immediate 2 year depreciation. It is a $32000 vehicle that will probably be worth $15000 when taken across the curb. WOW!

You need to think about the price difference between 2006 and 2007 models to see if you are better off paying more to get a newer model. In some cases you are. In some cases there are huge rebates, or will be huge rebates and incentives to take last years model. Check your new car quotes at Yahoo to see what you should be paying for your car, truck, or SUV.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/New-Cars

Car Buying Tip-Check Into Leasing An Auto

Oh me, I said the L word! Why is everyone so scared of a lease. Ask anyone who has money and they will tell you to lease anything that depreciates (ie Car) and buy those things that appreciate (ie house). The reason behind this makes sense. If you ever pay a car off before you are through paying for it, you will most likely owe more than it is worth and if you do keep it long term and pay it off, what do you have? An old car that is worth very little! On the other hand, if you lease your vehicle you will have a lower payment and can trade more often without having so much negative equity. Most people are scared because of the mileage limitation, but you can build miles in up front. Now, if you drive 50,000 miles a year, NO, a lease is not for you. If you drive 15,000 miles a year, I would not consider anything other than leasing. Check into GM's Smart Buy option where your name is on the title and you do not have to carry higher insurance coverages. You also have options at the end of the Smart Buy--you can purchase the car, refinance the car, trade the car, turn the car in, or even sell the car. Best of all, with residuals, you know exactly what the car will cost you at the end of 3 or 4 years. Dont be scared of the L word, check it out, it might be exactly the option you have been looking for.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/New-Cars
