Car Buying Tips For Women

If you are new to selling cars, remember one thing. WOMEN make the DECISION when buying a new car! I see new salesman start talking to customers and leave the women out of the conversation. This will NEVER lead to a car sale! PERIOD!!! Do not pay too much attention so that the husband is left out or feels you are hitting on his wife, but definitely talk to the wife. If you ever notice when figures are presented to prospective car buyers, men always look at their wives before answering. They can tell by the wife's body language whether she thinks its a good deal or not. I know many men are saying, "I wear the pants in my family." Yea right, but your wife probably picked them out for you. Women always get the new cars too. They may say, this is a car for my husband, but women get the new cars and men drive the old ones. All I am saying, pay attention to the women when negotiating a car deal.

This should be a hot topic! Everyone says that women are taken advantage of when buying a car, but think again. Women are more informed than men when buying anything. They do there homework, and are not afraid to speak their mind. I found that when I was selling cars, women always negotiated the best deal. Women always use the "I have to talk to my husband first" line, and it works! Lets give women credit where credit is do.

New Car Negotiation, Price Quotes, and Finance Advice

I first must say something that many do not want to hear. The job of a Car Salesman is to sell their car at the highest price possible and the customer is trying to buy the car at the lowest price possible. This is automatically set up to cause conflict, but you must realize a car salesman is hired and trained to make the dealership money. This makes some angry, but think about your own job. You are hired to make your boss or your company more money. If you are in customer service, your job is to make customers happy so they spend more and come back more often. If you work on an assembly line, your job is to perform your job as fast as possible to make more units at a lower cost per unit so your company can make more money. Any job you think of is in place to make the company money unless you work for a not for profit organization.

When you understand that a car salesman is there to do a job, it will be a lot easier to haggle and get a better price. Let me say this though. If your salesman lies or cheats you in any way, this is a whole different issue, I have no sympathy for a lying salesman--throw them to the wolves! I say haggling or dickering is good clean fun for both parties. Many customers enjoy this part of the sales process and many hate it, but I will show you easy steps to get a better deal on your next new or used car, truck, or SUV.

Now, with all that said, lets assume you know what car you are going to buy. You have done your preliminary research and have narrowed it down to at least a certain class of cars. You may be to the point you are comparing a Pontiac G6, a Nissan Altima, and a Toyota Camry. Try to narrow down to the point you are comparing 3 cars or 3 trucks etc. Don't get to the point you are comparing a Nissan Maxima and a Toyota Corolla unless you want to see which is going to be in your budget. You don't know how daunting it is to a salesman when you are comparing my top of the line car to a budget car at another car lot. And you are telling me my car is too high, but you don't want to look at my budget car. You can see what I mean, compare apples to apples.

    Looking for a new car?

To negotiate to your advantage you must break your car deal into components. You are saying, Components? Yes, your car purchase has several affecting components. You may have a Trade In - 1 component, Price on the auto of your choice - 2ND component, and the Interest Rate at which you will finance - 3rd component. You also have some sub-components like how long you will finance your car. Will you finance for 60 months, 72 months, etc, but we will leave that for another discussion. Lets focus on Purchase Price, Trade In, and Interest Rate. These are the 3 main things that are negotiable on a new car purchase and used car purchase.

My first car negotiation tip is an easy one and the main component when buying a car. The price of the car your are buying is negotiable. You will have a salesman tell you the vehicle is already discounted from the factory with rebates. You and I both know the car can still be discounted from the dealership unless you are buying a Saturn with one price shopping. I will say GM has gone to value pricing and it has narrowed the margin of discount, but it still can be discounted. The best way to find out what you can buy the car for is at Yahoo! Autos This is a FREE service so take advantage of it. Just click the link and pick the make and model you are shopping. You will be taken to a second page with 3 simple steps. Fill in the form with which trim level, color, and any comments for other options. Fill in the 2ND step with your name, address, phone, and email. The last 2 questions are payment method to see if you will be using rebates, and buying how soon--put within 48 hours or your quote will be set aside. The 3rd step is important, make sure you check the box for (select all dealers). This will ensure you get the lowest price possible. Then click the button that says (Get Free Dealer Quotes). Sit back and check your email for the easiest way to get quotes quick. If you do nothing else, follow this step as it can save you thousands. You can also go back and select another make and model you are shopping to comparison price shop.

The second negotiation tip has to do with interest rate when financing your auto. Many do not realize that one of the most profitable aspects for the dealership is financing a car. Here is how it works. The dealership does not finance the car, they actually finance with outside banks and just do all the paperwork necessary for the bank. The dealership sends the signed paperwork to the bank and the bank cuts the dealership a check. This is why all dealership sales are cash sales, but cash sales do not make any money for these car-lots. The dealership pulls your credit and sends it to the appropriate bank. The bank sends an answer back that says your buy rate is 5.75% or whatever it is according to your credit. Now, pay attention, this is when the dealership says we can do the loan for you at 7.75%. These 2 percentage points on a 20,000, 30,000, or even 40 or 50,000 auto can add up. The bank will then finance your car, send the dealership their money for profit on the car and interest profit over what they charge. So the question is how do you know what interest rate you deserve. I would say check with your bank, but dealerships get lower rates than a customer from some banks so why not apply for a loan directly with a Direct-To-Consumer Lender, Roadloans. Dealerships are not allowed to use Roadloans as they only deal directly with the consumer. And, when approved you will get a blank check overnight in the mail with instructions to buy a car. Now you are a CASH Buyer!

The last negotiation tip is when it comes to trading a vehicle. This one is a little more difficult, but there are a few tips to ensure you get the most for your trade. The biggest problem when it comes to the trade in is negative equity. I have a few tips at Negative Equity; Trading a Car When You Are Upside Down! Another way to avoid being upside down is to check out tips to sell your car instead of trade. kbb.com is a good place to see what your car is worth. When you put your vehicle in, make sure you don't put excellent condition. The dealership must figure in expenses with your trade such as running it through service to check it out, detailing, getting dents and dings out, etc. Kelly Blue Book figures are a little high anyway unless you are in California or some of the other big cities.

When you have received your low quote, obtained financing, and found what your vehicle is worth, it is time to go to the dealership. It should be pretty easy at this point. You already have the price you will pay and financing, so it comes down to trade in at this point if you even have a trade. This should be the easiest car you have ever purchased.

Car Buying? What's Your Budget?

    Car Buying? What's Your Budget?
    By Jeff Neilan

When it comes to affording your next new car (used cars too if they are new to you), how closely do you look at your budget? And from what perspective do you evaluate your budgetary parameters?

Based on my years of experience, I would say that many people only have a mild idea of how much car they can afford.

When you’re in the car shopping mode do you think in terms of bottom line cash price or think only of what your monthly payments will be?

Either way, as you take a look at what you can afford, you have to take into consideration all of the extra costs involved in buying/owning a car. Certainly today fuel costs are a major consideration. And there is always going to be your insurance premium, maintenance costs (used cars will be higher), etc.

Once you begin your car shopping, if you only have a ballpark idea of what you can afford… and only a ballpark idea of how much you drive and what your gas expense will be, and if you haven’t nailed down what your insurance premiums will be, you are on a fast path to end paying too much for your vehicle.

You must crunch your budget numbers… and not just your new car price numbers. Start with your take home pay (not gross pay) then start deducting all of your monthly living expenses. If you’ve never worked up a budget before; now is the perfect time to get one started. A simple spreadsheet is a great way to keep track of and illuminate your numbers. If you don’t have one, just stop by my website and download the one there or send me a note and I’ll email one to you.

Everyone’s means to afford their car varies, but by most standards you shouldn’t ear mark more than 15 to 20 percent of your take home income pay for your transportation costs.

It’s important to understand, no matter what your financial means, you’ve got to know your numbers up front and first before you even begin looking for potential vehicles. Don’t even make a preliminary pass at looking at cars before you do this. If you do, you run the risk of ‘falling in love’ with a particular vehicle. As is the case with so many people; when they do this, they begin to justify affording a vehicle they either can’t afford, or have too stretch beyond their comfortable means in order to do so. Doing your budgeting first and knowing what you can afford (and what you can’t) will help take the emotion out of your buying process… in fact, it will probably save you time as well since you won’t be trying to purchase a car that is not within your budget limits. Do your car shopping intelligently and factually. It will save time, money, and quite a bit of stress.

Now once you get your budget all mapped out and ready to go are you now ready to go shopping for your next car?

    Nope… Not yet.

Do you know your credit score? Your credit score is a big part of your financing expense; unless of course, you are one of the few people that actually pay cash for their vehicles. So, run your credit score. And you should do this well in advance of getting to the dealership. In fact, you should pull your credit as much as six months in advance. This way if there is outdated or incorrect data on your report, you will have time to get it expunged or corrected. Getting your credit score and your credit in order is whole new continuing topic beyond this article and you can learn more by visiting my website.

In summary, do your kitchen table homework first with your personal financials and the budgeting of them before you even begin considering any type of car. Be sure to consider all the expenses associated with owning a car; especially how many miles you’ll drive each week… fuel expense. Then you can begin narrowing your car search by looking for cars that fit your budget… and not trying to get your budget to fit the car you just picked out.

Lease Versus Buy Car

Everyone always Asks, Should I BUY A CAR or LEASE A CAR? This is a very important question when going to the Car Dealership.

You need to look at your past car experiences to determine your future car needs. Some questions to ask yourself about your car.

    1. How many miles do I drive my car?
    2. What kind of condition do I keep my car in?
    3. What do I use my car for?
    4. How long do I keep a Car?

This is 4 very important questions when deciding to Lease or Buy a Car. If you drive over 15 or 20 thousand miles a year, I would suggest you BUY YOUR CAR. If you are rough on your car, like scratches, dents, wear inside and out, I would suggest you BUY YOUR CAR. If you use your car for travel and it is your main car, you may want to BUY YOUR CAR. If you keep your car a very short amount of time or a very long time, you may want to BUY YOUR CAR!

But, on the other side, if you drive 15000 miles a year or less, trade every 3 to 4 years, and keep your car in good condtion, you may want to LEASE YOUR CAR.

Look at the last car you traded. Did you have Negative Equity? Did you owe more than it was worth? If your answer is yes, check into leasing. Leasing gives you the opportunity to trade more often without having negative equity. You turn your lease in and pick out another. It is a great way to drive newer cars more often. Lease scares many people because their mothers and fathers said to NEVER LEASE! Why? It works great for many customers. I have customers call me and tell me to get a new vehicle of their liking ready and they will pick it up tomorrow. Easy for the customer and easy for the dealership.

Negative Equity; Trading a Car When You Are Upside Down!

Upside Down is Dealership slang for Negative Equity. Who has it? Just about everyone, even dealership employees, so dont feel bad.

It is just a fact of life, cars depreciate. When you drive a car over the curb it loses value. If you buy from an individual, it still loses value. The only way to keep from being upside down is to:
    1. Put Money Down
    2. Pick a shorter term to finance; 48 months instead of 60
    3. Do not Trade Too often
    4. Make Sure You Get a Good Deal, Get Your FREE Quote!

These are just a few ways to avoid negative equity. Another one is to lease your vehicle. Some say, buy what appreciates and lease what depreciates. You lease for 3 to 4 years and get the best life out of the vehicle, turn it in, and lease another. Why worry about ever owning it. If you do own the car, it is worthless by the time you are through paying for it.

If you are upside down now and are looking for a lender to finance your new car along with your negative equity, check out Roadloans as they will usually finance 125% of NADA Retail. This is more than most lenders will lend. This will make it easier to finance a car without putting a bunch of money down.

General Motors 100000 Mile Certified Used Warranty

General Motors is trying to take the GM or Certified Used Vehicle Sales to the next level. They will be offering a 100000 mile warranty on USED VEHICLES! WOW!

First, it has to be a Certified Vehicle from a Certified Used Dealer. A Certified Used GM Vehicle is a car, truck, or SUV from the year model 2002-2006 with less than 60000 miles. Notice that I did not include 2007 models. This is because they already have the 100000 mile warranty included. Brands included are Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, Buick.

The warranty is a warranty that will cover engine, transmission, drive train. It is not a bumper to bumper warranty, but will cover the major components that cost the most to fix. This will take the GM sales to record levels this year as it will offer peace of mind. Imagine, you are looking at a 2003 GM Car with 45000 miles. Under the old Certified Program, you would receive a 3 month, 3000 mile bumper to bumper warranty only. You still receive this, but also get the 100000 power train warranty. I am happy to be a GM Salesman during this Awesome program! Way to go GM, lets take this to the next level.

New Car Deals Are Real Deals!

Guess what? There are still some 2006 models on the ground. What does that mean for you? That means there are some GREAT deals to be found. We are in the second month of the year with last years models still on the ground, that means the rebates are hitting the max, and the deals are getting sweet! They have to GO!
Fill out this short form at Yahoo! Autos
to see exactly what you should be paying for the 2006 you found or the 2007 that just arrived on the lot. There are deals on all of them now, but know what to pay before you even go. there are many savvy customers that are making their deals over the phone just because they do not like the games at the dealerships. Get your price at Yahoo! Autos
and call the dealership and make an offer. If the offer is accepted, then go take a closer look to make sure it is right for you. The saleman will not be mad because once you come in, they know you are serious. There is no haggleing once you get there. It just takes the stress out of the deal for all involved. Oh and by the way, if you are in most parts of the country it is very cold out right now, so dealing over the phone is not such a bad idea. Let me know if you use this method and it works for you.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/Buying-Tips

Negotiate Your Best Deal!

There are several keys to negotiating:
    1. Dont get discouraged and never make it personal. Remember that a salesmans job is to make the most money possible and your job is to buy the vehicle as cheap as possible. Also, remember a salesman makes 30% of the profit. It is always nice to arrive at a win-win situation. The dealership has to make money to stay in business, but you can get a fair deal at the same time.

    2. Know in advance how much you are willing to pay for the vehicle. Start lower than that point and hopefully meet around that point. A salesman is going to start high and come down, hopefully reaching your threshold. But, do not look at a $25000 vehicle and think you can buy it for $15000. There is definitely not this type of markup unless there are large rebates on a new car.

    3. Do not have second thoughts if you make an offer and the deal is taken. Many times salesman will go to the manager and say this is the most the customer will pay for the vehicle and the manager will so ok, go ahead and do the deal. Just because the deal is taken quickly does not mean you offered too much!

    4. When a salesman leaves to get your price and is gone for several minutes, do not think this a plot to keep you waiting. On any given day, there may only be one manager on the desk working 5 deals. It takes a little time because you have to wait your turn. I can say there is no gain in making a customer wait.

    5. Dont be afraid to make an offer. Many customers will say they have to go look at other vehicles because they are fearful of negotiating. This is the fun part of buying a car. Make it enjoyable. Write your offer on the buyers order and put a smiley face or write a little note, maybe the sales manager will find this humerous and take your deal.

    6. Make it easy on yourself. Know what price you should pay when you go in. Check out Yahoo! Autos to get a quote on the vehicle you are looking at. A real quick form to save a bunch of bucks!

New Car Versus Used Car; Which One Should You Buy?

This is a question that I, as a car salesman, get daily. Everyone is sort of confused about which one to buy. The main thing customers are concerned about is getting a good deal.

Let me say this; Consider pricing between the new vehicle you want compared to used car pricing of the same model. I will use the GMC Envoy because this is one that I sell.

A new GMC Envoy with leather interior will cost about $34000 pretty well equipped. Now with rebates and discounts lets say you can buy one for $31000-this is just an example. Include your tax, tag, title fees and your payment will be approx. $550-$600, this is also an approx. figure. This payment will change according to your rate determined by your credit. Now lets say you plan on trading this vehicle in 2 years and you did 60 month financing. At the end of the 2nd year, you probably will still owe about $26000. I am guessing at these figures, but I have been selling for 10 years so probably real close to being accurate.

Now, take this same well equipped GMC Envoy in a used model. You can buy last years model with 18000 miles for approx. $22000 with a payment in the $400 to $450 range. You also plan on trading this one in 2 years. In 2 years you owe approx. $16000-$17000.

Now, when the used car manager appraises these 2 vehicles you will get a better idea of how things work. The used one will have a few more miles because of the miles on it when you purchased it. The extra miles may cost you $1000 dollars. The new one may appraise for $14000 leaving you a negative equity of $12000. The used one may appraise for $13000 leaving you a negative equity of $4000-$5000. Now you can see the value of buying a used car over new. I have had plenty of customers that purchased a new car that are having trouble trading because of the large negative equity whereas the one that purchased the used vehicle can trade because they are in a better position for the bank. Now, if you put money down when you purchased the used one, you are even in better condition.

I am not saying every new car purchase is bad, but you stand a better chance with a good used car. We also do not know exactly how much a car will depreciate in these 2 years, but this is my experience in past years. So, look at a good used car and compare pricing while you are at the lot.

When Is Best Time To Buy A New Car-Continued

I told you at the end of the year, that it was a good time to buy a new car. It was a good time to buy a new car, right? Well, guess what? It is still a great time to buy a new car.

Dealers are finding new car sales very sluggish and are very motivated to move some iron! If you think they are not motivated, visit a local dealership which offers your car of choice and see what you can buy one for now. Get ready though, you may drive off the lot in that new car.

The end of 2006 ended with a bang and new car dealerships are wanting to continue the momentum into 2007. Nothing beats a great December followed by an awesome January. January for new car sales has been lagging. Any 2006 models left over are a MUST GO for January. For instance, on my lot, there is a 2006 new Buick Rendezvous that is discounted $10,000 without any haggle. It will be an easy deal and almost a steal. There are others that top the $5000 discount. Many GM dealers still have Red Tag Sale tags in the windows, so make it easy to pop by when they are closed to see what deals are being offered.

Many people want to come after a dealership closes, but dont be afraid of Salesmen. All you have to tell them is to give you a little time to look around in peace. Ok, no problem, especially with the cooler temps. We will not hastle you, look around in the day when you can see. Just ask for a business card and please use it if you decide to buy from this perticular dealer. Salesmen will appreciate you for asking for them when you return.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/Buying-Tips

Is This A Good Time To Buy A New Car?

This is a question that comes up quite often. Is this a good time to buy a new car? When I say new car, I do not necessarily mean a brand new car, but a new car to you, whether it is new or used.

I think you can look at the market and tell when it is a good time to buy a car. Typically, November thru January are slower months for the auto industry as a whole. So dealers and salesman will bend over backwards to make a deal during these times. When spring rolls around and there is an abundance of customers, salesmen will drop a customer or shortcut the process to get to the next deal that may be easier. It is the nature of the business. Many will disagree and say each customer is important during any selling season, but trust me, on a cold November day at 6:00 in the evening with no cars sold for the day, Managers will go out of their way to make a deal. Owners believe every day should be a good day and look crazy at managers that are not giving them results.

Most dealerships have some type of board where each sell for the day is logged. Take a trip to the dealership, find this board and see how many sells have been made on this perticular day. If there are few sales on this board, you have the bargaining wand in your hand. Make a crazy offer, when they say they have to pass on the deal, head to your car to leave. You will find out real quick the least they will take for the car you have chosen. They will beat you to your car with this offer. Novemeber, December, and January are prime months to get a GREAT deal! Dealers are also frantic to get rid of old age units. When I say Old Age, I mean left over 2006 models when 2007s are filling the lots. Pick out one of these leftover 2006 models for your best deal. If these vehicles are not sold by the end of the year, the manufacturer will give a one time credit to the vehicle and all rebates and incentives will be gone. Most dealers do not want to carry this inventory into the next fiscal year.

So go out now and see how good the deal gets. You will probably be surprised how anxious salesmen are to brave the cold to assist you in any way imaginable. Good Luck and happy buying!Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/Buying-Tips

If a last year model is not sold by the end of the year, ALL rebates and incentives for that vehicle are gone. So, you can see that dealers are anxious to move those cars now. We still have a 2005 model on the ground in the 2007 model year selling season. It is going to be impossible to sell it now. The dealership will have to make a decision to take a hit to get rid of it. You talk about depreciate when you drive off the lot. An immediate 2 year depreciation. It is a $32000 vehicle that will probably be worth $15000 when taken across the curb. WOW!

You need to think about the price difference between 2006 and 2007 models to see if you are better off paying more to get a newer model. In some cases you are. In some cases there are huge rebates, or will be huge rebates and incentives to take last years model. Check your new car quotes at Yahoo to see what you should be paying for your car, truck, or SUV.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/Buying-Tips

What Exactly Is Dealer Invoice

    What Exactly Is Dealer Invoice?
    By Jeff Neilan

My first answer to that would be, who really knows? Its a very elusive term thrown around by about all the car manufacturers and car dealers marketing departments. You know after many years in the business, Im not sure I could tell you precisely what true dealer invoice or what is termed dead cost is on any particular vehicle. Im sure the owner or the ownership group could somehow calculate this elusive dollar figure but most of us humans will continue to search for the ever elusive animal we refer to as dealer invoice.

To say this term is a bit misunderstood is a rather large understatement. Maybe thats why it works so good for the folks in the marketing department. Many potential car buyers assume that what they uncover on the internet is the car dealers invoice price. Well, not really. Its certainly one heck of a lot closer than checking the MSRP of a give vehicle, but it probably isnt going to be dead cost.

You hear it all the time. In fact right here where Im at there is a local dealer that says all youll ever pay is $50 over factory dealer cost; and they have been selling cars this way since day one oh so many years ago. I guess it shouldnt, but it really baffles me how this works on the consumer. Just do the simple math; if this dealer sold 300 cars a month, about 10 cars a day! times $50 over factory cost, the inference here is that you are paying $50 over what the dealer gets the car for, this dealer would be grossing $15,000 per month on new car sales. I can unequivocally tell you that this would never cut the mustard! Think about it $15,000 a month and this dealer hasnt even paid rent, utilities, insurance, salaries, benefits, and on and on. So, $50 over factory invoice, not hardly.

So what is it then, this thing car dealers call cost or invoice? Well, its a bunch of numbers being added, subtracted, multiplied, and divided before anyone knows the dead cost of the car for the dealer.

    Whats a consumer to do?

Getting out on the internet and doing your homework is a very good start. The exercise of comparing the information you gather is a good one and is to your advantage if you want to start your negotiations at invoice price. Which, by the way, you NEVER negotiate from the sticker price down.

While doing your research on dealer invoice prices its important to make certain you are comparing exact features and option packages to one another. This will at least give you baseline comparisons with which to work. All car dealers receive different incentives from the manufacturer; factory to dealer marketing incentives, dealer holdback, and on and on. The fact that much of this is not disclosed is why it is very difficult to come up with dead cost for the car dealer.

For instance, in the case of dealer hold back; the dealer doesnt even get this money until after the car is actually sold.

There are other expenses that the dealer has that are applied to the overall cost of a particular car, including how long a particular car has been sitting on the lot. You see the dealership finances their inventory and as such pays interest on this financing so a car that has been sitting on the lot for some time has cost the dealer more than the ones that they are just unloading from the truck.

As you can see, there are too many variables to any particular car at any particular dealership to know exactly what the dealer has put into a car in terms of cost. However, as we talked earlier, doing your research on the invoice price is a good place to start. Just dont stop there thinking you have all you need and dont need to do any further negotiating on the selling price.

Purchasing cars and negotiating is almost synonymous. Getting a good feel for the invoice price is just a starting point. Now its time to roll up your sleeves and work on getting the best possible price you can.

How To Save Big Money On Your Car, Truck or SUV

How To Save Big Money On Your Car, Truck or SUV
    By David Maillie

With the current price of gas at over $3 a gallon, the economy in a downturn, and no relief in site, we need to start conserving and saving everywhere we can. The car is a great place to start. Here are some tips from the National Institute on Highway Safety:

Dont take unnecessary risks. You can get in an accident and get hurt and you can also get a ticket, fine or worse. Speeding greatly increases the odds of an accident. It also increases fuel consumption and can result in a ticket. A speeding ticket alone can cost over $200 in fines and court costs easily plus there is added insurance points and costs which can easily cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. Basically, do not speed as it will cost more than you realize.

Scope out your local gas stations and find where the closest and cheapest gas is. It does no good to buy cheaper gas 30 miles away and burn half of it driving there and back. Use the internet as there are many websites that will actually help you find the lowest prices on gas and tell you exactly how far they are from you. Its amazing the price difference in gas stations. In one mile from my house there are 2 gas stations and one is $.12 per gallon cheaper than the other. Twelve cents may not sound like much, but on a average 20 gallon fill up that will save you $2.40. With regular driving, that could result in a free tank every month or two.

Here is a great way to save money on your car that most people still will not do, shop your car insurance. We see it on TV every day in ads from Geico and Progressive. By shopping your auto insurance you can save hundreds and even thousands in some cases. Its not because your current insurance company or agent is ripping you off, its mostly due to the fact that each company has different underwriters, qualifications, and standards. What may be a safe or low premium car for one company may not be for another. If you shop your car imsurance around, you will be amazed at what you find. You could save enough for a mortgage payment! Loyalty will end up costing you big, sorry insurance agents, but its true.

Be safe. Keep your car maintained. This includes everything from oil changes on time to following the manufacturers recommended maintenance plan for your car. Notice we said manufacturers and not dealers. Most car dealers are purely interested in generating service revenue and will recommend many unnecessary and expensive treatments and services over the life of your car. Want proof, compare he manufacturers recommendations with the dealers. You will always see a big difference. Just remember this, regardless what the dealer says, the manufacturer built your car, designed your car and backs your car. I would always take the manufacturers word over the dealers.

These are just a few great tips that will definitely save you big money on your car, truck or SUV.

10 Used Car Buying Tips

Here are some great used car buying tips to save you money. They are in no specific order, but maybe they will save you some money!

1 Check NADA.com for pricing on the used car you are looking at. This is what most banks use to finance cars.

2 Check Kelly Blue Book for a guide on your trade.

3 Dont get too caught up on the trade value as most never get payoff for their vehicle. Instead, look at the bottom line. If the dealer uses wholesale on your trade, make sure you get wholesale price on the used car you are buying.

4 Consider financing the used car for fewer months. Try doing 48 months if you can swing the payment. If you finance longer, try paying a little extra on months that you can. Know your Credit Score. Get Your Equifax Credit Report Now!

5 Negotiate your best deal! After you have done this, tell the dealer they have a deal if they will pull a carfax report and everything is clean. Dont pay for a carfax yourself. Most dealers have an account where they can pull it for you.

6 Check the oil in the used car you are buying to make sure it has been changed. You can check inside the windshield, there will usually be a sticker telling when the next oil change is due. Check the back exhaust to make sure there is not excessive black residue around the opening--this would indicate that it may be burning oil.

7 Once you have negotiated your best deal, tell the salesman that you have one more used car to check out at a nearby dealer. Go to your car, even if you drive around the building and come back. If they let you leave, you are probably getting the best deal possible.

8 Remember to apply for your financing prior to looking for a used car. Try applying online at RoadLoans Auto Finance. I have sold 2 customers this week with roadloan checks in their hand. Roadloan and will make sure that you do not pay too much for your used car. Roadloan gave my customer a better rate that I could offer! DONT FORGET, it is FREE to apply online through Roadloan. Click the link above and you will be taken directly to the 5 minute application. You will get an email with the results almost instantly.

9 Check your insurance on a specific car before you sign the dotted line. Shop and Compare Insurance online to see who will give you the best quote.

10 After you have purchased your car, make sure you do not leave anything in your trade because the trade may be gone by the time you return. Check your CD player and above your visors, and dont forget your garage door opener.

If you do not get treated professionally, go to another dealership. How you are treated at the time of purchase is a good indication of how you will be treated if you have a problem. Even though you are buying a used car, it is new to you. Most dealers will gladly take your business, even if they do not make as much on you as the next because you are equipped with some great car buying tips.

Online Auto Loan

I had my first customer that purchased a vehicle with an online approval through Roadloans. You cannot beat receiving a blank check from a finance company and being able to negotiate like a cash buyer. They approved my customer for $15000 and financed 120% or NADA retail value which is easy to do. Many finance companys will approve a customer for 80% of loan value, which means the customer will have to pay $3000 or $4000 down to make a vehicle work. Roadloans gives you a way to finance a vehicle without putting a ton of money down. This is a great option for anyone looking to buy a car and they are not real strict with credit requirements. You do not have to have perfect credit to apply with them.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/Buying-Tips

Low Interest Or Rebate?

As Summer is heating up, so are incentives to drive car sales. The question always is, do I take the low interest incentive or the rebate? It is an either or situation and usually the dealership will figure which way will be most benificial to the customer, but take a proactive approach and decide for yourself to make sure you are getting the best deal possible. First, you must find out what type of interest rate you can get if you take the rebate. You can apply at a reputable finance company online to find out. You can fill out a short form with the type of car you are looking at to find the rate you will receive. Now that you know the rate you will receive, check and see what the low interest incentive is and the rebate on the auto you are looking at. You can get this from the dealership or you can go to the respective manufacturers website (ie gm.com). After you have this info., use a payment calculator and see which way is more benificial. Something to consider, if you trade often, take the rebate! This will make your payoff less when you go to trade as most interest charges will be deducted when a payoff is figured. Bottom line, take some preperation before going to the dealership. If you are unsure, have the dealership figure both ways for you and analyze the results. Ask the Salesman for their opinion, most have nothing to gain by giving you advice on rebates versus low interest unless they get paid on the back end, meaning they get paid on finance income, which most do not.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/Buying-Tips

Car Buying Tip; Money Down!

There is a belief among customers that a down payment on a car goes directly into the sales persons pocket. This could not be further from the truth. Now, I will say to make your best deal on the car first, but when it comes time to do financing, always put money down. Not only will this decrease the amount that you are financing and lower your payment, but may also get you a better rate with the lender as you will be financing that much less under their guidelines. The banks look at book price when financing a car, and always take into consideration the fact that they own the car, up until the time you pay it off. This will also make it easier to trade this vehicle down the road if you so choose because you will owe less and avoid being upside down.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/Buying-Tips
