Open Car Door With Tennis Ball

There has been a question posed and it has been told that you can open your car door with a tennis ball!

Here is how it goes: You drill a precise hole in the tennis ball so that air can escape. You put this hole over the keyhole in your car door, and hit the back of the tennis ball with great force. This is said to push the pins in the keyhole so that the lock will pop open.

I have tried this and have not had any luck, but have been told by others that it can be done and has been done. They say that the hole in the ball has to be perfect along with the correct hit on the back of the tennis ball and it has to be lined up with the keyhole.

So the question is, can a tennis ball open your car door? If anyone has had this work, let me know. If you don't believe this will work, let me know. I just want to see how possible it is to open a door with a tennis ball?

Remote Keyless Entry Unlock Doors Via Cell Phone

I am sure by now everyone has heard the idea that you can open your doors on your car from a remote location via Cell Phone.

Picture this, you lock your keys in your car along with your RKE (Remote Keyless Entry). You call your wife who is 100 miles away on her cell phone from your cell phone. You hold your cell phone close to the car while she hits the unlock button on the second Remote Key less Entry near her cell phone mouth piece and the door Unlocks!

I have read on the Internet of people who have tried it and it worked along with those who say it is impossible because of the difference in frequencies. I had to ask my service specialist who works on remote key less entry systems, along with all locking systems, window motors, electronics, car computers, etc. He is one of the most knowledgeable people I know when it comes to working on cars. He said it is definitely possible.

After confirmation from him, I had to try the theory. I know I looked crazy holding my cell phone near the car and waiting in anticipation for the result I wanted. I held it near the door with no results. I told my wife to hit the unlock button again while holding my phone near the windshield, closer to the actual sensor that communicates with the remote key less entry. I was nearly 1 mile away with obstruction and hills in the way and was very surprised when the door unlocked. I have seen it work! It may have been a fluke of some kind because it makes no sense to me, but it did work on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. Although it did unlock the door 2 times, it would not lock the car, pop the truck, or sound the panic system.

I have no explanation for this working, but have had others say they tried it and it worked for some and not for others. My car is not equipped with OnStar and it is a factory remote keyless entry system. Please do not call me crazy, but I welcome all comments whether it works for you or does not work for you. Like I say, I have no explanation. I have read the other sites saying this was a chain letter to be funny and there is no way it would work with the difference in frequencies. My remote will barely work from 10 feet away so how could it work 1 mile away. I will try it from a further location when time permits. Let me know what you think...

Selling A Car To A Former Car Salesman

Its a Saturday, a car salesmens best day for selling. You talk to a few people that were kicking tires, waiting on a movie to start, or worse, seeing what their company car is going to look like when it comes in. Oh yes, we do get some crazy folks on car lots. Your a waitress and dont get a tip, try spending 2 hours going over every option on a brand new car and thinking you are getting close to a deal and the person tells you they are going to buy next year sometime! WHAT??? And worse, you look around and all the other salesmen have customers and there are 7 or 8 cars sold for the day when you finish with Mr and Mrs lets waste someones time today!

Bad day, no, just glad they are gone, I catch another couple that seems to be ready to buy today. By the Way, have you ever been insulted by a salesman that asks if you are going to buy today? This may be where this bold statement came from. But anyway, the couple was very nice and want to lease their new vehicle. They drive it, love it, can see it parked in their driveway. We go inside to start the negotiation and the gentleman starts off by saying he used to sell cars so dont jack him around. Oh boy, here we go again. Another salesman that did not sell enough cars to stay in the business, but today is a professional. We usually make the most money from people like this because we have no mercy for know-it-alls, remember this point when you go to buy your next car.

But anyway, the man asks how much we were going to take off sticker price almost like he was now angry. They just happen to be looking at a brand new model that was just arriving on lots so there were no discounts at all. Usually I would have trouble telling someone there were no discounts, but this time I was proud to put base in my voice and say sorry, There are NO DISCOUNTS on these. There are no rebates, no special rates, and the first ones out will bring sticker price. He started clowning, meaning he raised his voice and got angry and said he knew how much they were marked up and they would be discounted! I handed him the keys to his trade-in and told him thanks for looking and when he was ready to buy a vehicle to give me a call.

Normally I have much more patience, but this had been a rough day. He grabbed his wife and said they were off to the competition. I started to call and warn them, but decided to shake it off and not worry with it anymore. Much to my surprise, an hour before closing time I get a call. Guess who? Yep, the former salesman must have been treated worse at the competition. To make a long story a little shorter, he came back and purchased the car that his wife wanted in the first place. The moral of the story, be nice to your salesman, most are good people trying to make an honest living. They are truly on the customers side because without a customer, a salesman is unemployed.

Car Wash Tips

Just a car tip to keep your car looking good. Be cautious of these brush type car washes that may leave scratches to your paint. You can pay a little extra and get a hand car wash that your clear coat surface will love.
When letting someone detail your auto, make sure they do not use a buffing device on your dark colored car. If you have a tan, white, or light colored car it will probably be fine, but dark colored cars show swirl marks when a electric buffer is used. If this is a reputable detail shop they have ways to keep from having swirl marks on your paint, but bring this up before you are sorry. Also be careful when using these shine products for your dash. I will not name any names, but there are some popular ones that will take the dye off your dash when rubbed on. Use a mild cleaning agent such as soap and water instead. I have had people bring a brand new car back to me saying the dash is peeling, warranties will not cover this when you used these shineing products. Car Salesman-Bad or Bad Rap?

I really believe that most car salespeople are good people and I believe they get a bad rap sometimes. Many salesmen that I know are very good people and just doing a job to provide for their family's, and can we truly blame them for wanting to make as much money for their family as they can. Dont get me wrong, there are some out there that will lie and cheat to sell a car, but there are many more that would not tell a lie if their job depended on it.
How do you know, as a customer, if you got a good deal or if you were ripped off? I believe that a "good deal" is just a perception that we have placed on a transaction. It is a good deal if we like the car and was given all the information that we need to make an intelligent buying decision. It is always someone else that tells you that you did not get a good deal. When I was selling, I had customers tell me that profit was not a dirty word. They did not mind paying me a profit because I gave them all the information that they needed to know and probably some that they did not need. I made sure that my customers were taken care of after the sell especially because that is when you find out what kind of deal you had. When a customer came in and had a problem, I took care of it, period! When that person was ready to buy another car, they knew my name and was already confident that they would be taken care of.
Maybe instead of classifying all salespeople as scum of the earth, we may need to take a look at those that take care of the customer and realize that they are people like all of us that are trying honestly to put food on the table for their family.Source URL: https://ashesgarrett.blogspot.com/search/label/Stories
